If you have an item you’d like to sell, we have made the process simple and straightforward. Simply upload images and complete the following form and we will do the rest.

Description Form

Images - Quality magazine style images to showcase your item in the best possible light, ensuring a quick and successful sale.

Description - a detailed description of the item: include the brand, year of purchase, and recommended retail price, if possible. Details such as fabric, finish and features increase the likelihood of a successful sale.

Dimensions: Accurate measurements or configuration is crucial for buyers to determine if the item will fit in their space.

Style, Origin, and Designer: This valuable information serves as a testament to the exceptional quality of the item - enhancing its overall appeal and desirability. For example – A mid-century piece originally from Denmark by designer Arne Jocabsen.

Receipt of purchase if possible but not essential. This will also showcase what great value the item is and increase the likelihood of a successful sale.

Condition: Any wear and tear should be fully disclosed to ensure that buyers know exactly what they're getting and avoid disappointment.

Location of the item: This helps us to provide accurate information about shipping and delivery options.

Urgency of sale – this will assist us in trying to get your item sold as quickly as possible.

Once we have this information, we will list the item quickly and deal with all the interest and questions on your behalf. If you aren’t able to provide all of this, just do the best you can.

  • These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Scout It Out websites, applications, products and services, as well as any listing for sale of and purchase of any furnishings or decor therein (herein ‘services). By using and accessing the services, you agree to be bound by and comply with these Terms and Conditions.

    For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the term ‘Consignor’ shall refer to and mean anyone utilising Scout It Out services to assist in the listing and selling of any furnishings and/or decor. The term ‘Buyer” shall refer to and mean anyone purchasing furnishings and/or decor through Scout It Out.

    For Buyers:

    If you purchase any items from Scout It Out you agree to the following:

    Inspection of Furniture or Item

    At Scout It Out we strongly recommend you inspect any furniture or item you wish to purchase. If this isn’t possible, Scout It Out takes no responsibility for any discrepancies or undisclosed damage. Inspection of furniture or an item is at the discretion of the Seller but is strongly encouraged by Scout It Out.

    Payment

    To ensure a seamless transaction process, payments are made via The Shop or remitted to Scout It Out through a designated bank account.

    Timeliness is of the essence, payments must be settled within a within 24 hours subsequent to the agreement to purchase any furnishings and/or decor listed on Scout It Out. Kindly ensure that a remittance, confirming the payment, is promptly dispatched if paying by direct debit.

    In the event of a payment lapse, Scout It Out retains the prerogative to offer the item to another interested Buyer.

    Transportation of Purchased Items

    The Buyer, or end user, is responsible for any delivery charges after consigned item has been purchased from Scout It Out or the item’s location the Buyer’s designated delivery location. While a Scout It Out representative may recommend a delivery service and furnish an estimate of charges, The Consignor and Buyer have the option of selecting their own insured and bonded delivery service. Scout It Out is not responsible for any damage of consigned items during transit. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to carefully inspect all delivered items upon arrival. Scout It Out does not provide insurance coverage for items during their transportation and delivery. Any disputes arising from the use of a delivery service recommended by Scout It Out shall be solely between the Buyer and the chosen delivery company.

    Kindly take note that the majority of items available are second-hand and consequently may not be accompanied by their original packaging or any packaging whatsoever. It remains the duty of the Buyer to request or arrange suitable packaging for the items. Any damages resulting from inadequate packaging cannot be attributed to Scout It Out's responsibility.

    Should a Buyer select their own delivery or shipping service, Scout It Out cannot be held responsible for any claims that may be filed against the company for damages.

    If a buyer arranges pick up of a purchased item(s), the risk of damages transfers to the buyer or the delivery service or person arranged by the Buyer as soon as the item has been moved from its original position or location. Appropriate manpower and packaging materials must be provided by the Buyer for all pick ups.

    Storage

    Scout It Out is pleased to assist in organising or suggesting storage options for both Buyers and Consignors. However, please be aware that any damages incurred during the storage period cannot be attributed to Scout It Out's liability. We strongly recommend that both Buyers and Consignors consider obtaining their own storage insurance, as Scout It Out does not include storage insurance as part of its service.

    Return Policy

    Given the inherent nature of this business, it's important to note that Scout It Out does not entertain or facilitate any refunds, returns, or issuance of credit notes. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

    As second-hand items may naturally exhibit some minor wear and tear, it becomes the duty of the Buyer to exercise due diligence and thoroughly assess these aspects before proceeding with a purchase via Scout It Out.

    We encourage all Buyers to be well-informed and considerate in their choices, aligning with our commitment to providing a transparent and mutually beneficial experience for all parties involved.

    Miscellaneous Terms

    Listings - while we strive to provide accurate listing information on each item presented for sale, Scout It Out does not guarantee that the listing is fully accurate regarding the condition of any item listed for sale and further cannot guarantee the authenticity of any item. Scout It Out is not responsible for the accuracy of listing information provided by Consignors. Has no obligation to independently vet the rights of any Consignor to sell any item, and is not responsible for the condition of the item upon delivery that differs in any way from the listing. You acknowledge that the items listed for sale by Scout It Out are used and are being sold without any warranties or any kind.

    While we at Scout It Out strive to keep our site current, and mark any items for our site that have been purchased or withdrawn from sale by the Consignor, we cannot guarantee that all items featured on our social media platforms at any time are available for purchase at the time you visit the site.

    For Consignors:

    The subsequent terms are applicable to all Consignors who choose to utilise Scout It Out's resale services:

    Pricing and Payment

    Setting the right price is a pivotal step in the resale process, and this is a collaborative effort between the Consignor and Scout It Out. Prior to listing an item for sale, the pricing will be mutually agreed upon and determined based on factors like item quality and market demand. GST will be adding at checkout and payable to Scout It Out.

    In the event that an item remains unsold for a duration of 6 weeks after its initial listing, Scout It Out will suggest a price reduction. This proposed adjustment will be communicated to you and, once agreed upon, confirmed in writing via email.

    Once an item has been successfully sold, the Buyer will make a direct payment to Scout It Out through a designated bank account. Once these funds are received and the item has been delivered, Scout It Out will proceed to directly compensate you, the Consignor. Please note that a commission of 25% and GST will be deducted from this payment. The commission rate is set and non-negotiable.

    Selling Policy

    Depicting your items for sale with accuracy is a pivotal aspect of maintaining trust and transparency with our platform users. As the Consignor, you are responsible for providing Scout It Out with precise descriptions of each item, including brand, name, and dimensions. Furthermore, high-quality, descriptive photographs of the merchandise are imperative for effective listings. To ensure a consistent customer experience, it is paramount that all items are in excellent to new-like condition. Upholstered items should be clean and well-maintained prior to listing, and any lighting must be functional and compatible with Australian electric plugs.I n order to achieve these objectives, Scout It Out has taken the initiative to design a Comprehensive Furniture and Decorative Item Description Form, meticulously crafted to enhance your convenience and facilitate the accurate representation of your items.

    By adhering to these standards, you contribute to the overall quality and integrity of Scout It Out's marketplace, fostering a positive environment for both Consignors and Buyers.

    Disclosure of Damage and Defects

    The Consignor holds the responsibility to transparently communicate all damages and defects, both visible and concealed, to Scout It Out. This entails meticulously documenting each instance of damage on the provided description form. Accompanying these disclosures, visual evidence in the form of pictures should be furnished for all visible damage or defects.

    It is essential to underscore that Scout It Out cannot assume liability for undisclosed hidden damages. Neglecting to divulge damages has the potential to result in the removal of the item from all Scout It Out selling platforms.

    In the event that a Buyer declines a piece of furniture due to pronounced inaccuracies in the provided description, the Consignor will bear the responsibility for any ensuing return shipping or delivery charges. Additionally, the Consignor will be obligated to remit a reduced commission of 12.5% plus GST to Scout It Out.

    The adherence of both Consignors and Buyers to these protocols is pivotal for upholding the integrity of our services and ensuring a fair and transparent marketplace.

    Termination of Services and Replicas

    Scout It Out retains the prerogative to promptly terminate its services to a Buyer or Consigner, without prior notice, in the event of a breach of these established terms and conditions by either party.

    Additionally, it's imperative to underscore that Scout It Out refrains from accepting any replicas for sale across its platforms. In instances where such items are not disclosed and are subsequently discovered, a penalty payment of 12.5% + GST to Scout It Out will be levied. Furthermore, the concerned item will be removed from sale on our platforms.

    By engaging with our services, both Buyers and Consigners acknowledge and consent to these stipulations, thereby recognising the implications of non-compliance.

    Terms Applicable To All Parties

    Taxes

    Even though the items are of second-hand nature, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) remains applicable. To ensure compliance, Scout It Out will subtract the GST amount associated with the purchased item and subsequently remit it directly to the relevant governmental authorities prior to disbursing payment to the Consignor.

    Additionally, Scout It Out holds the obligation to remit GST on the final commission amount for each item. This particular requirement will be explicitly detailed in an invoice, establishing a legally binding agreement. This approach aims to uphold transparency and adherence to tax regulations while facilitating a smooth transaction process for all parties involved.

    Force Majeure

    In the event that either party is prevented from fulfilling its obligations under these Terms and Conditions due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, such as acts of God, natural disasters, strikes, labour disputes, acts of terrorism, government actions, pandemics, or any other events commonly referred to as "Force Majeure," the affected party shall be excused from the performance of its obligations to the extent such performance is affected by the Force Majeure event.

    The party affected by the Force Majeure event shall promptly notify the other party in writing of the occurrence of such event and the impact it has on its ability to perform its obligations under these Terms and Conditions. During the period in which the Force Majeure event prevents or hinders the affected party from fulfilling its obligations, the obligations of both parties under these Terms and Conditions shall be suspended.

    The party affected by the Force Majeure event shall take reasonable steps to mitigate the effects of the event and resume the performance of its obligations as soon as the Force Majeure event ceases to prevent or hinder such performance. If the Force Majeure event persists for an extended period of time, either party may choose to terminate these Terms and Conditions without liability.

    It is understood that neither party shall be held responsible for any delay or failure in performance caused by a Force Majeure event, and no party shall be entitled to seek damages or remedies for any such delay or failure. The parties shall make reasonable efforts to communicate and cooperate in managing the effects of the Force Majeure event on their obligations under these Terms and Conditions.

    Indemnification

    By utilising Scout It Out services, You and all your heirs, assigns, officers, directors, employees and successors in interest, agree to hold harmless, relieve , indemnity and discharge Scout It Out and it’s officers, directors, employees, assign and successors in interest for any and all liability, including reasonable legal fees and costs, for any loss and/or injury and/or damages to any person and/ or property that may be sustained arising out of the use of Scout It Out’s website, social media platforms, Services and/or the purchase or sale of any items, and any breach by You of these Terms and Conditions.

    Trademarks and Intellectual Property

    All Buyers, Consignors and users of the Scout It Out website or social media platforms acknowledge and agree that Scout It Out names, trademarks, graphics, logos, slogans and service names utilised on the sites are the exclusive property of Scout It Out and shall not be used without express written permission by Scout It Out. Your further acknowledge and agree that the content of all social media platforms and all information contained therein is the property of Scout It Out, protected by copyright, and cannot be copied or reproduced in any way with the express, written permission of Scout It Out. You agree not to store, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, sell or otherwise exploit any of the content on Scout It Out’s website or other social media platforms for any commercial purposes.

    Safeguarding the security and privacy of the data we gather from Buyers and Consigners is of paramount importance to us.     However, it's essential to bear in mind that no method of transmitting data over the internet can be entirely impervious to security breaches.     Errors and Delays

    Scout It Out is not responsible for any errors or delays in responding to a request for information, purchase order or any other communication caused by an incorrect email address provided by You, and is not responsible for any delays caused by any other technical difficulties.

    Limitation of Liability

    Under no circumstances shall Scout It Out be held responsible for any damages that arise out of the use of the Scout It Out website, other social media platforms or any services, the sale or purchase of items, the services provided by Scout It Out, any inability to use the website or otherwise.

    Site Modification
